Once games are completed, leave the finished games visible, in the big screen view with the results of the game showing. This allows players to see and verify results put in and allows a better chance of correction before the round is closed.
This was an issue for us in our most recent tournament where a player didn't catch the incorrect results and I had to manually adjust their strikes, causing more questions and confusion from other players.1 vote
In our tournaments we tell our players to play in the order presented on the big screen view for our games as it allows us to have a source of truth for when people play out of order. The person on top of the player list for an arena goes first, next player second, etc.
Right now, the Current Tournament Position player order option displays the better ranked player first in the list of players on an arena.
It is generally agreed that going 4th is considered best by our players and when we get to finals I have to…1 vote
I am writing a web app for pinball players which requires them to login to the app. Most of my potential users already have matchplay.events accounts and stay logged into matchplay.events in another browser window or tab.
I would like to allow them to login to my web app without needing a username or password if they are already logged in to matchplay.events. OAUTH support from matchplay.events would allow me to offer this.
This would work in the same way that people can login to the uservoice website using Facebook or Google (except matchplay.events would play the role of Facebook…2 votes
I'd like to run a balanced partial round robin tournament. The idea is to avoid some of the delays that occur due to one or two players taking much longer to play than other players, while ensuring that each player has a schedule difficulty roughly equal to that of other players.
The tournament director chooses how many games to be played by each player. This number could be smaller than the number of players. For example, the tournament may have 30 players, but each player may play only 9 opponents.
Ideally, each player should play a set of opponents roughly…5 votes
In some round robin tournaments, one player is always assigned to be player 1 in the player order. I believe this happens any time a round robin tournament has an even number of players.
For example: https://next.matchplay.events/tournaments/81299/players/213201
This occurs in both the original matchplay site and the new beta site.2 votes
Could be interested for many organizers of tournaments to see from which country players are. It would be great if you could insert the flag for each player.
I announced for example player list for a future tournament.
So in this type of list and also in Standings, would be great if you add country flag from IFPA-Profile. So anyone who is interested can see from where players are.

A 3 Game Guarantee Tournament simply means that every player is guaranteed to play a minimum of 3 games. 3 Game Guarantee Tournaments are set up similar to Double Elimination Tournaments. There is a winner's bracket and a loser's bracket, the main difference being players that lose their first two games will get to play an extra game in the loser's bracket in order to ensure everyone gets to play at least 3 games.
A similar algorithm can be used to create 4 guarantee brackets, 5 game guarantee brackets, etc.3 votes
New group matchplay scoring 3/2/1/0 for 4-player groups AND 3/2/1 for 3-player groups. This works well for swiss pairings where 3 player groups are at the bottom of the standings and avoids the messiness of .5 pts.3 votes
Single elimination is good final format but it is missing possibility to Best of X games. We never play finals with only one machine.3 votes
Can we have an option to stop creating new games when you pause the flip frenzy timer?
Much like when the timer ends it asks if you want to create a new game or clear the queue.
It would make breaks a lot easier to manage and put the players back in the queue until you resume or create games on arenas.4 votes
When you choose IFPA seeding and then tiered swiss in group match play, the first round for group 1 is supposed to be the best player, worst player, middle player, middle player. But the system doesn't recognize a person with no IFPA number as the worst player. It recognizes them as the best player. So you get the new person as seeded #1 best player instead of last position. Could you please put in a default rank of a new player as being worse than anyone else (like 99,999) who actually has a rank so it will seed these players…1 vote
I love the idea of a Round Robin tournament but I hate how matchplay displays it.
It shows every round at once which can be confusing for players. Is there a way we can have it show a round at a time then move onto the next round?2 votes
We use Match Play for our league, and are currently in our 19th season. When viewing the "All Players" list and trying to determine which players/entries to "Retire", it would be useful to sort the list by the date of the last event they played in.1 vote
Create the ability to organize arenas by "zone". We have multiple venues with games in several smaller rooms/areas. There are many rounds that have the majority of the tournament in one room, leaving other rooms empty.
If matchplay could pull balanced arenas based on "zone" the distribution of people would be spread out throughout the venue.
Also, TDs could potentially set "zones" based on the era of game. Theoretically making sure that all types of games are being played each round.
Just an idea I've had.8 votes
Add a Best Game option format where the organizer can customize it and/or define it? It would give us TDs as bit more flexibilty…..
For example, this weekend we are doing a best game format across 6 pins where only the Top 5 on a pin get points (10/7/5/3/1), the rest get zero points.2 votes
I've noticed on TILT several people have requested more options for assigning arenas, mainly from a point of view to control crowds and spacing.
Example #1 from Ron - I am running a group matchplay tournament with 40 players and 30 arenas/games for 8 rounds. 2 of the games are upstairs, the other 28 are in the basement. For crowd dispersement purposes, I want the 2 upstairs games to be used every round. Is this doable in the Match Play software?
Example #2 from Chad - I run several tournaments a year at a private home that has games on…9 votes
It would be good to have a QR code for a series that we can put on pins or posters.3 votes
Right now the Swiss Format will assign three-player groups to the bottom of the standings. It would be appreciated to have an option where three-player groups are assigned to the top of the Standings. The better players arguably play longer games, and this will allow the assignment of three-player groups to those players which would potentially speed up play.6 votes
Since we run frenzies with very small queues at Bluffs, I'd like to have the option to hide the queue, so that players can't game who they play.2 votes
When running Flip Frenzy competitions, I would like to have the option to select Flip Frenzy when selecting "create finals".
At all of my events, we do 3 hours of qualifying with the top 10 advancing the to Finals. The Finals consist of another 60 minute Flip Frenzy.2 votes
