option to automatically add top seeds from tournament into finals
not sure why there isn't an option to start playoffs as a continuation of the tournament instead of basically starting over and having to add the players manually

You can use the "Create playoffs" feature to do just this. See the last section here: https://matchplay.events/handbook/lifecycle
